"Put variety in white for Black is not a colour"
Put variety in white for Black is not a colour apart from shamelessly quoting from both Edouard Manet and Charles Webster Hawthorne, is a selection of photographs by Sally Rice in reaction to the recent overwhelming popularity of black and white photography. Not adverse to shooting in monochrome herself, and indeed featuring some black and white work in this exhibition, Sally prefers to look at the world though a traveller's eyes to assert that indeed Colours speak all languages. An journey not just through the spectrum of colour but also her travels through North America, Australasia and Asia.
Exhibition at The Red Gate Gallery - Brixton, London. Preview evening 30th January 6.30pm - 11.30pm. Exhibition open 30th January - 5th February 2009. (Closed Sunday).
